German-Jewish composer. Ignaz Brull was held in high esteem by Johannes Brahms. He was one of the greatest pianists of his time, and Brahms would allow no pianist other than Brull to play his new compositions to his publishers. Brull and Brahms were also close friends, and there is no doubt that the melodious nature of Brull’s music owes much to their relationship.
